Bring the shape
of the brief.

A few details about the object and its application make a useful start.

Start with the object.

Describe the object or idea, the intended image size and where the illustration will be used. Explain whether the image needs to match an existing product closely or explore a new visual direction.

Approved reference images or drawings can be discussed once the project context is clear. For the first message, a description is enough; do not attach confidential design files or restricted product material without agreeing the transfer and permissions.

Useful practical details include required angles, a plain or composed background, the number of illustrations and any deadline. Scope and fees are discussed for the actual brief rather than inferred from the concept studies.
